Peter James MacCracken, APR is a highly respected strategist, accredited public relations professional and recognized community leader. He has helped many of San Diego's most important organizations achieve greater success.

In the 1990s, he and Scott L. McGaugh built MacCracken & McGaugh into a renowned communications firm with $1 million in annual billings before merging it with a major advertising agency (Matthews/Mark).

Recognized as an industry leader, he has won more than 30 communications awards, authored dozens of published articles, made numerous presentations and is a highly rated public speaker.

MacCracken serves on the Board of Directors of the National Conflict Resolution Center, the Advisory Board of the Equinox Project, the Public Policy Committee of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Marketing Committee of the NTC Foundation.

In May 2013, he received a LEAD San Diego Visionary Award – the Ronald Kendrick Memorial Award for Regional Collaboration – along with Malin Burnham, Bill Geppert and Bob Kelly.

He earned a B.A. from Albion College (summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, Albion Fellow, Departmental Honors) and an M.A. from the University of California Santa Barbara.
